Guillermo Ramirez

Guillermo Ramirez was born and raised in Miami, Florida where he started his musical career on the trombone early in middle school and later picking up rudimental percussion in high school.

 

Guillermo is a touring cast member for the Tony and Emmy award winning broadway musical production, “Blast!”, where he plays trombone, baritone, snare drum as well as a multitude of percussion instruments. During his time at “Blast!” He’s done 4 tours of Japan(2014, 2016, 2017, 2019), 3 of them being national tours of all 47 prefectures(2014, 2017, 2019), performed at the 2015 Seoul Drum Festival in South Korea, and the 2015 Fortune 500 Global Gala in San Francisco. 

 

Before joining the “Blast!” cast, Guillermo marched Euphonium with the 7 time World Champion Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps in 2011 earning a Bronze medal. Then went on to march snare drum for Momentum/Velocity(FIU Indoor percussion) in 2012 and aging out as section leader in 2013. Most recently Guillermo was a part of the world finalist Bluecoats Indoor winter guard in 2019 where he played trombone and an assortment of percussion instruments

 

In addition to performing, Guillermo has worked with programs in south Florida such as: Hialeah Gardens Senior High(2012-2014), Cypress Bay Senior High(2015), Doral Academy Charter High School(2015-2018), FIU indoor Percussion(2017-2018), FIU Indoor Winds(2018), and Charles W. Flanagan Senior High(2018).

 

Guillermo currently resides in Brazil, IN. with his girlfriend, Ashley and their 2 cats and Pug, where he is the percussion director at Northview High School.
